David W. Brill graduated with honors from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. He has been a member in good standing with the Florida Bar since 1992, and is admitted to practice in the following federal courts, in all of which he is also a member of good standing: The United States Supreme Court; The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; The United States District Court of Florida, Southern District; The United States District Court of Florida, Northern District; and The United States District Court of Florida, Middle District, December 12, 2006.
David is the managing attorney of BRILL & RINALDI, The Law Firm.
David began his legal career in the Office of the State Attorney in and for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami, first serving as a Certified Legal Intern and then for over three years as an Assistant State Attorney. He tried six jury trials as an Intern. He tried dozens of bench proceedings and approximately two dozen jury trials as an Assistant State Attorney.
After his departure from the State Attorney’s Office in 1996, David concentrated in the area of plaintiffs’ civil trial practice. He has since garnered extensive experience in plaintiffs’ civil trial practice. That experience includes land-based and admiralty/maritime personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice
Recently, David was co-lead counsel in a trial in Broward County, His Honor Judge John Luzzo presiding, in which the jury was charged with the responsibility of ascertaining the damages in a tragic, default wrongful death case to which BRILL & RINALDI, The Law Firm clients, a widow
David has had the additional good fortune of arguing admiralty/maritime matters before both the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as well as other appeals before Florida’s Third District Court of Appeals and Fourth District Court of Appeals, respectively. He has also written several briefs to the United States Supreme Court seeking Certiorari.David is the immediate past President of the Florida Admiralty Trial Lawyers Association (FLATLA) and a member of both the Florida Justice Association (FJA) and American Association for Justice (AAJ). He is, furthermore, “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating available.
